Cadence's Birthday Party

It's hard to believe two things in regards to Harley's baby sister, Sara. One that she is the wonderful mom of a beautiful two year old named Cadence and second that she is getting ready to make us an Aunt and Uncle once again. We are both very proud of the job that her and James have done in creating a wonderful and happy little family despite all the hard work of graduating college, getting married, buying a house, starting new jobs and having a baby within about a year's time a couple years ago. Honestly we were a bit concerned because that was a lot of big things in such a short period of time, but they did great in dealing with everything.

The undisturbed birthday cake:

The "Lady Like" way to sample icing: (professionally demonstrated by Cadence herself!)

The "forget it, this cake is good response. Again demonstrated by the Birthday Girl!

We sure are going to miss seeing her as often as we do. She is such a beautiful little girl and we are sure she will make an awesome big sister!

Goodbyes are Never Easy

We continue to go through stuff to see what we could possibly live without. I found a wonderful couple to give Trintiy's baby clothes to that she has outgrown as we are out of the baby business. Meleah tells everyone (including strangers) that she is moving to Washington. I think she is excited about it and her only concerns are if the Tooth Fairy will know where to find her when her next tooth falls out. She hasn't thought about Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny yet! Oh to be 5 again.

Last weekend was awesome. All of Carrie's sisters and their kiddos got together at her Mom's place for Gabie's Birthday. It was the first time Gabie had been home from South Korea in almost a year and a half. With us moving to Washington we didn't know when the next opportunity would be to get pictures of all my mom's grandkids together would be. So we brought out the good camera that day!

Of course Meleah is the beauty on the bottom with her tongue sticking out! Gosh it's hard to get a good picture of that many people at one time is all I can say.

This coming weekend we will spend Saturday at Harley's sister's house celebrating her daughter's 2nd birthday. I know we are only moving 2,000 miles away but the goodbyes are starting to happen and are being a bit harder than what we expected. As they say life is never easy and Thank God for the internet as I couldn't imagine what it would be like back in the 1800's and before when someone would get married and leave never to be heard from again or rarily IF you are lucky.
